LESSON GOAL

BY THE END OF THIS LESSON,

you’ll create your own Giving Plan using your Share bucket. You’ll decide how much you want to give, when to give, and who or what you want to support — turning your kindness into action you can stick to!

💬 let’s break it down

You’ve learned how to give your time, money, or gifts. You picked a cause or project to support. Now it’s time to put it all together by making your very own Giving Plan!

A Giving Plan is like a treasure map — it helps you stay on track and feel proud of what you're giving over time. It answers three simple questions:

  1. How much will I give? (from your Share bucket)

  2. How often will I give? (once a week, once a month, on holidays, etc.)

  3. Where will I give? (a cause, a person, a project)

Giving can be something small or something big — the most important part is consistency. When you plan ahead, it becomes a habit… and habits help change the world 🌎💗

You don’t have to be rich to be generous. You just need a kind heart and a plan.

🧠 ANALOGY: A Giving Plan is Like a Workout Routine

If you want to grow stronger, you don’t lift weights just once and expect big muscles 💪
You follow a plan, stick with it, and get better over time.

Giving is the same! With a plan, your giving gets stronger and more powerful every time.

🤔 critical thinking questions

What’s one small thing you could give regularly that would help someone else?

Why is it helpful to plan your giving ahead of time?

How would the world be different if everyone had a Giving Plan?

What’s more important: giving a lot once, or giving a little often?

✍️ journal entry: “My Giving Plan”

Write out your very own giving plan! Include:

  • What kind of giving you'll do (money, time, gifts)

  • Who or what you want to help

  • How much you want to give each week or month

  • How you’ll keep track

End your entry with this sentence:
"My giving makes the world better because…"

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 ACTIVITY WITH FAMILY OR FRIENDS: Giving Calendar Creation

What You’ll Need:

  • A calendar or planner

  • Markers or stickers

  • A grown-up or sibling to plan with

What to Do:

  1. Pick a time each week or month to give.

  2. Write it on the calendar and decorate it!

  3. Set a reminder or alarm to check in with your plan.

  4. After each giving day, talk about how it went and how it felt.

🎯 What This Teaches: Planning your giving ahead of time makes it easier to stick with and turns generosity into a regular part of your life.
